UPPER HOUSE ENDORSES CHANGES TO LAW ON INCENTIVES IN AGRICULTURE

ZAGREB, Sept 17 (Hina) - The Croatian National Sabor's House of Counties on Friday endorsed two bills from the area of agriculture -the bill on changes to the Law on Incentives and Benefits in Agriculture and Fishery and the bill on changes to the Law on Farmland. Croatia must have a consistent agricultural policy on which its incentives would be based and not change that policy frequently, MPs said in a debate on the bill on incentives in agriculture. The MPs also criticised the proposal that fishermen be given increased incentives for fish, tuna and lobster catches, instead of being approved a lower price of diesel oil. The MPs also requested that, along with the already proposed ones, incentives for some other agricultural products be increased as well.
