CROATIAN ECONOMY MINISTRY REPS BEGIN TALKS IN JORDAN

AMMAN/ZAGREB, Oct 9 (Hina) - Croatian Economy Minister Nenad Porges and a delegation he is leading in an official visit to Jordan on Saturday began official talks at the Jordan Agency for the Promotion of Investments. Porges met the Agency's director, Reem Badram Saturday. The two stressed the agreement on the stimulation and mutual protection of investments to be signed Sunday by Porges and his Jordanian counterpart Mohammed Asfour, was especially important because for the increasing of economic cooperation, Minister Porges's Cabinet said in a statement Saturday. Porges was received by Prince Faisel Bin Al Hussain for talks during which Porges relayed Croatian President Tudjman's invitation to King Abdullah Bin Al Hussein to visit Croatia. The two stressed a high level of political cooperation between the two countries, but also the need for strengthening economic cooperation, the statement said. During a brief meeting with the US State Trade Secretary William Daley, who is also visiting Jordan, Porges expressed gratitude for the United States' support to Croatia's accession into the World Trade Organisation.
