OSIJEK MARKS GERMAN UNIFICATION DAY OSIJEK, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Osijek-based Croatian-German Society has organised an exhibition on 50 years of the Federal Republic Of Germany to mark German Unification Day. This exhibition was staged on Sunday in the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek. The show, which is a gift from Germany's Embassy in Zagreb, consists of two parts. Thematic posters of significant German towns and cities are on display in the first segment, and the second part, entitled "Divided and Unified Germany" includes photographs. Opening the exhibition, the Croatian-German Society's Vice President, Josip Franz, recalled that ten years had passed since the "tumultuous autumn of 1989 when the wall collapsed which had monstrously divided not only the German people but also the humanity."
