ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - On the occasion of the day of police and the day of its patron Saint Michael, Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Penic and his associates on Wednesday laid wreaths on the Homeland Altar on Mt Medvednica
overlooking Zagreb. In the book of visitor, Penic wrote that today we remember primarily those who sacrificed themselves for our free, democratic and independent state. "Our duty today is to protect and defend the Constitution and laws of the Croatian state. This is what we are doing and today we vow that we will continue doing that professionally and in a devoted manner, as a part of our state policy and demands of our people", Penic wrote. The delegation of the Croatian Interior Ministry laid wreaths by the Central Cross at the Zagreb cemetery of Mirogoj and by the grave of a former Defence Minister Gojko Susak.(hina) it
