FEDERATION PRESIDENT OPPOSES LATEST MEASURES BY OHR

SARAJEVO, Sept 21 (Hina) - The President of the Croat-Muslim Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ivo Andric, on Tuesday sent a letter to High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch, expressing disagreement with the annulment of the appointment of Federation Justice Minister and Deputy Interior Minister. Reacting to Petritsch's decision to annul the appointment of Barisa Colak as Justice Minister and Ivan Backo as Deputy Interior Minister due to disrespect for the established procedure, Luzanski said the appointment had been carried out in line with the law and the Federation Constitution. Luzanski said he was not familiar with any procedure of checking up candidates for ministerial offices which would be performed by the High Representative and requested additional clarification of those measures from Petritsch. Luzanski also said the latest decision of the High Representative prevented the Bosnian Croat people

Luzanski also said the latest decision of the High Representative prevented the Bosnian Croat people from adopting important decisions, which was especially worrying if one knew that the former Justice Minister and Deputy Interior Minister, Ignjacije Dodik and Tomislav Mihalj respectively, had been relieved of their duties. Luzanski described the situation as intolerable and requested that the problem be solved in a meeting with the High Representative. (hina) rml
