CHINA TO HELP CROATIA IN MINE REMOVAL PROJECTS

SISAK, Sept 16 (Hina) - The Chinese military envoy of ground forces, navy and airforce in Croatia, Wang Debao, and major Xy Jun on Thursday visited the Croatian Mine Removal Centre (HCR) in Sisak. The HCR deputy head, Josip Tulicic informed the Chinese officials of the organisation of the Croatian Mine Removal Centre and the system of humanitarian mine removal projects in Croatia. Tulicic told his guest that after military and police operations of "Storm" and "Flash", which liberation a part of Croatian territory from the Serb occupation in 1995, mine removal projects were mostly financed from the budget. "Any help - in funds, equipment, or manpower for mine removal projects in Croatia is welcome", Tulicic said. He expressed hope that the HCR and the Chinese army would establish good cooperation in mine clearing projects in Croatia. Wang Debao told Hina that after his incoming visit to the HCR, the two sides would talk on possible cooperation. According to him, the Chinese Government expressed a wish to help Croatia and contribute to the struggle against explosive devices. The Chinese officials also visited a location near central Croatian town of Petrinja where a mine removal project was being conducted by the "Piper" company. (hina) it
