SARAJEVO, Sept 13 (Hina) - Croatia's kuna and Germany's mark will no longer be available in the payment system of Bosnia-Herzegovina as of September 30, Bosnia's Central Bank said in a statement Monday. As of the above mentioned date,
transfer payments will be possible only in the domestic currency -- in convertible marks -- but citizens will be able to make cash payments in German marks and kuna. Payment transactions' bureaux will stop carrying out financial transactions in German marks and Croatian kuna from the beginning of October, with the exception of deposits onto accounts of commercial banks which will again be able to exchange foreign currencies into the convertible mark or carry out payments abroad pursuant to orders of the account holder. The Central Bank of Bosnia-Herzegovina said in the statement that
as of next month, all payment transactions between the two entities
of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Croat-Moslem Bosnian Federation and the
Serb entity of Republika Srpska would be carried out exclusively in
convertible marks.
