TUCEPI, Sept 10 (Hina) - The Croatian government will take a series of incentives to achieve a minimum 20 percent increase in next year's tourist business, Tourism Minister Ivan Herak said in Tucepi, southern Croatia, on Friday. Herak
said the government will as early as next week adopt a law on export incentives for tourism which envisage earmarking from the state budget in the first three budgetary months of next year. The next incentive will be a reduction of Value Added Tax from the present 22 to ten percent, and a minimum double increase of budgetary means for the promotion of next year's tourist season, announced the minister. Among the 16 incentives the government will take is the continued rehabilitation of tourist firms, to which end DM150 million will be earmarked. Herak said it was also necessary to reduce interest rates on loans, reduce payments for municipal services

The next incentive will be a reduction of Value Added Tax from the

announced the minister.
Among the 16 incentives the government will take is the continued
rehabilitation of tourist firms, to which end DM150 million will be
earmarked.
Herak said it was also necessary to reduce interest rates on loans,
reduce payments for municipal services, adjust prices by the "value
for money" principle, intensify inspections to prevent black
labour, extend the tourist season, and solve the surplus labour
issue by introducing the "permanent seasonal employee" category.
