SARAJEVO, Sept 2 (Hina) - The Bosnian Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ BH) would like Croatian-Bosnian relations to continue along
the ascending trend and therefore condemns the recent statements of
high-ranking Bosnian official Haris Silajdzic which, the leading
Bosnian Croat party believes, could jeopardise relations between
the two countries.
"Silajdzic's statement is harmful and serious. It comes at a time of
positive political processes which such irresponsible actions can
only halt," HDZ BH vice president Stjepan Mikic told reporters in
Sarajevo.
Silajdzic, a co-chairman of Bosnia's Council of Ministers,
recently accused Croatia's leadership for the war in Bosnia, to
which the Croatian government responded by severing all contacts
with Silajdzic.
Neven Tomic, another HDZ BH vice president and co-chairman of the
Council of Ministers, said the Croatian government's decision
could jeopardise overall contacts with the Bosnian Council of
Ministers due to the way the body operates.
Tomic reminded that Silajdzic's is a personal statement even though
the Council has not been able to formally distance itself due to
Silajdzic's refusal to have Zagreb's demand for an apology be put on
the Council's agenda.
