Former Bosnian Croat POWs warn against attempts to falsify truth about war

MOSTAR, Aug 13 (Hina) - Mirko Zelenika, the president of an association of former Croat inmates in prisoner of war camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has accused the Bosnian Muslim (Bosniak) officials in the Federation (the Croat-Bosniak entity) of discriminating against Croats and of falsifying the truth about the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia.

Zelenika. who held a news conference in Mostar on Saturday to mark the 16th anniversary of the establishment of that association, said that the federal judicial institutions and Bosniak officials were trying to negate the existence of the detention camps run by the Bosnian Army in which Croats were killed.

"The Hague tribunal has transferred all the documentation to the prosecutorial authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina who have done nothing so far to deal with the cases of crimes committed against Croats. Those authorities are acting as the protectors of crimes and advocates of the theory that the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not set up camps but prisons. It is not true," Zelenika said.

He called on Croat officials to stop being silent and begin spreading the truth about the sufferings of Croats in that war.
