The indictment has been issued against Zijad Dervisevic, 51, Amel Safer, 37, and Sasa Bonic, 24, who are charged with having planned a terrorist attack when they planted an explosive device under a car of Pero Mamic, an HDZ deputy in the assembly of Zenica-Doboj canton in the Croat-Muslim federation.
Dervisevic paid Amel Sefer to put the explosive device under the Mamic's car, and Sefer and Bonic planted a booby trap beneath that vehicle while it was being parked outside the building housing offices of the Zenica cantonal administration. The device was activated exactly at the time when Mamic and Ivo Tadic, an HDZ BiH deputy in the federation's parliament, entered the vehicle. The two HDZ officials went unhurt in the blast that damaged the car.
The Bosnian prosecutors qualify this as "a terrorist act planned to intimidate the population and undermine and destroy the political and social structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the prevention of the formation of the bodies of the government in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina".
Dervisevic is charged with financing this terrorist act and Sefer and Bonic are charged with terrorism and illegal possession of arms and explosives.
