Bosnia hasn't yet received request to grant questioning of Paravinja in reporter's death case

SARAJEVO, Aug 9 (Hina) - The justice ministry of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not yet received any request for additional hearing of Dragan Paravinja, temporarily extradited to Croatia in the case of the disappearance of the underage girl Antonija Bilic, the ministry's spokeswoman Marina Bakic told Hina in Sarajevo on Tuesday.

"We have learnt from the media about the announcements regarding additional questioning of Paravinja, and it is all for now. S far, we have received no request to grant such questioning," the spokeswoman said commenting on a possibility of the Croatian and Serbian police investigators to interview Paravanja, currently kept in investigative custody in Sibenik, about what he knows about the 1994 murder of Serbian journalist Radoslava Dada Vujasinovic.

Vujasinovic, who wrote about the links between Serbian politicians and underworld figures for the Duga weekly, was found dead in her flat in Belgrade on 8 April 1994. Serbian investigators who conducted the first probe in the case qualified that as suicide. According to media, Paravinja claims that he has information that the reporter was killed.

Croatia's national police director Oliver Grbic and his Serbian counterpart Milorad Veljovic on Monday agreed on establishing a joint team of investigators to collect information about the 1994 death of the Serbian journalist and possible implication of Dragan Paravinja in the case, as speculated by the media. Following talks between Grbic and Veljovic in the northern Croatian Adriatic seaport of Rijeka, the Croatian interior ministry issued a statement saying that a request would be made to question Paravinja about the case of the deceased reporter.

The Bosnian justice ministry now expects Croatia and Serbia to agree who of them will send this request to Sarajevo. Paravinja can be questioned about the journalist's death case only with the prior approval of the authorities in Bosnia as he was handed over to Croatia only for the investigation into the disappearance of Antonia Bilic.
