PULA PULA, Aug 15 (Hina) - The big "Golden Arena" for the best movie at the Croatian Film Festival in Pula this year was given to "Bogorodica (The Virgin Mary)" by Neven Hitrec.

the Croatian Film Festival in Pula this year was given to

The best director this time was Zrinko Ogresta whose film "Crvena
Prasina (Red Dust)" was shown at the festival.
Lucija Serbedzija won the "Golden Arena" as the best actress. She
played the role of Ana in "Bogorodica", whereas Ivo Gregurevic who
was Rade in that film was awarded as the best actor, the festival's
organisers told a news conference on Sunday in the Croatian coastal
town of Pula.
Goran Tribuson and Zrinko Ogresta wrote the best script for the film
"Red Dust".
The best cameraman was Vjekoslav Vrdoljak in the film "Garcia".
Djelo Jusic received the golden arena for music in the film
"Dubrovacki Suton (Dubrovnik Dusk)"
Gorana Stepan who made set design in the film "Da mi je biti morski
pas (I Wish I Were A Shark)" was also awarded for her efforts. The
costume designer from that film, Ruta Knezevic, and Sadika Becic
and Verica Grguric who were in charge of the make-up in "I Wish I
Were A Shark" also won the Golden Arena.
The award was given to Mladen Pervan and Gama studio for the best
sound in the "Dubrovnik Dust", while Josip Podvorac got it for the
best editing in the film "Red Dust".
The best supporting actress was Edita Majic in the role of a painter
in the movie "I Wish I Were A Shark", while the best supporting actor
was Ante Vican as the parish priest in "Red Dust".
The jury consisted of Bruno Gamulin, Alfi Kabiljo, Goran Trbuljak,
Zvonimir Balog, Ivan Bekavac, Nenad Ivankovic and Marija Nemcic.
The Croatian Society of Film Critics decided to give its award
"Oktavijan" to the comedy "I Wish I Were A Shark".
