According to D&B analysts, the aggravating circumstances for
Croatia are the consequences of last year's crisis in the banking
sector, most evident in the increasing difficulty of being granted
loans on the domestic market and the resulting decrease in
consumption, the poor export on key Western Europe markets, and the
negative effect of the Kosovo crisis on Croatian tourism, expected
to be neutralised by the signing of a peace agreement.
The latest evaluation has also been influenced by the current
economic recession, the uncertain outcome of negotiations with the
International Monetary Fund regarding inflow of money, and the
unfavourable course of events in politics, the agency says in its
latest report.
