SARAJEVO, July 28 (Hina) - The Unites States President Bill Clinton
forwarded a letter to the chairman of the Bosnia-Herzegovina
Presidency, Ante Jelavic, in which he reiterated the interest of
the United States in the success of the upcoming summit on Stability
Pact for Southeast Europe to be held in Sarajevo on July 30,
including a direct encouragement to the further implementation of
the Dayton Agreement, Jelavic's Office reported on Wednesday.
The US President stressed that the Stability Pact was a significant
opportunity for the promotion of visions of a Southeast Europe
based on the cooperation and democracy.
Clinton expressed hope that BH and its neighbours would draw a plan
of cooperation which would contribute to the realisation of this
goal. President Clinton also called on Jelavic to initiate the
infrastructure issue, as well as issues of long-term development
and stability, and market reforms and regional security.
President Clinton once again pointed to the significance of the
fact that Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic had not been
invited to participate in the summit, and added that Serbia would be
able to integrate into the international community only when the
current president is no longer in power.
