ZAGREB, July 26 (Hina) - After unsuccessful negotiations with the management of the Zagrebacka bank, employees with the furniture factory 'Savric' continued a protest, staged in front of the head offices of the bank in Zagreb this
morning, said a representative of the Association of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH), Mario Ivekovic on Monday afternoon. Protests will go on until money for rehabilitation of Savric is ensured, Ivekovic said. During Monday's negotiations, unionists and 'Savric' workers demanded that the Zagrebacka bank, which holds 34 percent of the factory's shares, should support by financial means the recovery of Savric and secure 3.5 million kuna for back wages. The bank refused such demands. During Monday's negotiations, unionists and 'Savric' workers
demanded that the Zagrebacka bank, which holds 34 percent of the

A meeting of representatives of trade unions, the Government, the
Zagrebacka bank, the Croatian Privatisation Fund, the Savric
supervisory board, the city of Zagreb and Zagreb County is
announced for Tuesday (July 27) in the Croatian Economy Ministry to
discuss possible solutions.
The Zagrebacka bank is expecting much from tomorrow's meeting,
Ivekovic said adding that workers will accept a possibility that
money for the rehabilitation of 'Savric' be ensured from the state
budget.
Those who are most persistent will have most from negotiations, he
said adding that protests will continue until the issue of Savric be
solved.
