The Opposition Six sees no reason to resume negotiations "until we
see new elements in HDZ's stance," group coordinator Drazen Budisa
said in the break of a meeting of Opposition Six leaders.
The Opposition Six-HDZ negotiations were interrupted last week due
to the two sides' failure to agree on the date of the next
parliamentary elections. The Opposition Six suggests December 5,
whereas the ruling party suggested four dates between December 19
and January 23.
Budisa said the Opposition Six today analysed the situation
following the last talks with the HDZ, concluding the ruling party
did not accept the opposition's key demands.
Today's meeting also discussed relations among the parties making
the Opposition Six, Budisa said, adding the common wish is to bond
even more strongly, "in order to realise our joint goals, without
bringing into question the previously agreed principles of
cooperation."
The Opposition Six comprises the Croatian Social Liberal Party, the
Liberal Party, the Social Democratic Party, the Croatian Peasants'
Party, the Croatian People's Party, and the Istrian Democratic
Assembly.
