ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - A Zagreb police official, Josip Begovic, on Monday held a news conference to inform about the course of an investigation into the killing of a banker, Ibrahim Dedic. Begovic spoke about already known details of

ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - A Zagreb police official, Josip Begovic, on
Monday held a news conference to inform about the course of an
investigation into the killing of a banker, Ibrahim Dedic.
Begovic spoke about already known details of the murder. He could
not answer many questions of journalists for the protection of the
further probe.
Dedic was killed with three bullets at about 10.30 p.m. Saturday in
front of a building where he lived in Ivekoviceva Street in Zagreb.
A question about a blonde who is believed to have been escorted
Dedic toward the building was not answered. Neither did police
answer questions why Dedic's bodyguard had not been with him and
whether Dedic was armed at the moment of the murder.
Begovic could not comment on the discovered car, which is believed
to have been used during Dedic's killing. The car was found out near
the building where Dedic was killed.
Asked whether an identikit picture of perpetrators has been made
according to statements of Dedic's neighbours, Begovic said he had
no knowledge about it. Police will reveal the identikit if they
receive a good description of perpetrators in the meantime, Begovic
added.
Asked about the police protection of citizens and the Dedic case,
Begovic answered that it was impossible to protect everyone
personally around the clock. He added that the police would do their
best within their authority at the request of citizens about their
protection.
Police will try to find out perpetrators of 1999 five killings which
seem to have been mafia showdowns, he told reporters.
