MILJAVAC RECEIVES ISRAELI MILITARY DELEGATION

ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - Croatia's Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac on Monday received an Israeli military delegation, led by retired General Ben Hanan to discuss the continuation of military cooperation between the two countries. We talked about several projects, and one of the most important is the modernisation of MiG planes. We expressed some dilemmas, but it is certain that we are, nevertheless, continuing to cooperate with the Israeli Defence Ministry, Miljavac said. Asked by reporters about dilemmas in connection with the upgrading MiG aircraft, Croatian minister answered that ideas had appeared about possible solutions with other planes, and voiced hope that a decision on that matter would soon be made. Israeli representative Ben Hanan said similarities could be noticed between the two countries facing problems and having the will to live in peace. He added that the Zagreb meeting revolved around several problems, and participants in the talks reached solutions to some of them. I think that our future is positive, the Israeli General added. Both countries are in unstable regions. We can use experiences of both to create a better security situation in our countries, the Croatian minister said. (hina) jn ms
