MALA MLAKA, July 3 (Hina) - Croatian Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic on Saturday unveiled a monument to the late cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, the head of Croatia's Catholic Church during World War Two whom Pope John Paul II beatified
last October. The monument, the work of sculptor Josip Poljan, was unveiled in Mala Mlaka and was donated by resident Stjepan Fiolic. Addressing the villagers, state and Church dignitaries, and members of Zagreb city authorities, Minister Biskupic said the monument will remind the coming generations of Stepinac and the dozens of thousands of other victims of Croatian calvaries and soldiers who gave their lives for Croatia.
