Ante Lakic, and afterwards viewed Korcula's cultural and historical monuments. They were especially impressed by the house of Marco Polo, the man who first discovered the far east and in the 13th century learned of the Chinese life, customs, and interests. Polo returned to Korcula after 17 years in China. The Chinese delegation was surprised at the number of documents from Polo's time and then China that have been preserved on Korcula.
