ALMOST 80,000 KOSOVARS WOULD LIKE TO REMAIN IN ALBANIA

PRISTINA, July 1 (Hina) - At least 250,000 refugees returned spontaneously from Albania to Kosovo in the last two weeks. On Thursday, July 1, the organised return of ethnic Albanians should start. First 1,000 Kosovars are leaving Albania today for towns of Pristina, Prizren and Urosevac in convoys organised by UNHCR, Albania's Government and other relief agencies. Makeshift camps in Albania are still offering shelter for 113,000 refugees, whereas, additional 140,000 have found accommodation in relatives' homes. Busses with refugees will be escorted by NATO forces through north-east Albania in order to protect them from robbers.
