SARAJEVO, June 24 (Hina) - Municipal elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina, announced for this autumn, have been postponed until April of 2000. The Provisional Electoral Commission which is a part of the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina, decided the elections should be held on April 8, 2000, OSCE Mission chief in the country, Robert Barry, said in Sarajevo Thursday. Barry said it had been assessed it would be impossible to hold municipal elections this year due to the tensions in the region caused by the crisis in Kosovo, difficulties with the registration of voters from Bosnia-Herzegovina who have temporary residence in Yugoslavia, and the lack of time for an effective election campaign.(hina) lml jn
