CRO POST & TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROTESTERS SEEK TALKS WITH PREMIER

ZAGREB, June 11 (Hina) - About a thousand workers at Croatian Post and Croatian Telecommunications (HT) on Friday gathered in French Republic Square in downtown Zagreb protesting against a government motion on HT's privatisation. The protest was organised by the Croatian Post and Telecommunications Trade Union (HSPT), which demands that the majority of HT's shares remain owned by the state, and that current and former HT employees be offered 15 percent of HT's worth, instead of the seven percent proposed by the government. HSPT Secretary-General Josip Pupic called on the protesters to support their delegation in its endeavour to speak to Premier Zlatko Matesa.
