VUKOVAR, May 27 (Hina) - Representatives of the Serb minority in Croatia described the confirmation of sentences of the so-called Sodolovci Group members to several-year-long prison terms for the war crimes against civilians, as the
politically-motivated verdict for all Croatian Serbs. The co-ordination of mayors of the towns with a Serb majority and the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) issued on Thursday a statement saying that "contrary to the evidence, innocent members of 'the Sodolovci Group' are proclaimed guilty only because it suits somebody... and in such a State with such judiciary it can be obviously done." Therefore citizens of the Serb descent in Croatia are more fearful and uncertain for their future life in Croatia, the statement read. This co-ordination cannot accept the verdict and asked all relevant international factors to help. It also urged Croatia's competent bodies to rectify the

injustice and let the apprehended Zeljko Keskwnovic, Vujo
Halavanja, Pero Klickovic, Marinko Stankovic and Goran Vusorovic

The Osijek County Court on Thursday confirmed the guilt of members
of the "Sodolovci Group" found guilty in a court process held in
1995 for war crimes against civilians during the Serb aggression on
Croatia. They were accused of participating in indiscriminate
cannon attacks against a few Croatian towns and villages from June
1991 to May 1992.
