ZAGREB, May 21 (Hina) - Workers of the Croatian Post (HP) and Croatian Telecommunications (HT) on Friday announced a general strike for May 28. The workers do not agree with the bill on the privatisation of the HT and are dissatisfied
because a public discussion was not organised in which they could present their proposals. The workers propose that HT's privatisation be conducted in such a way to make the HP the owner of 20 per cent of shares, whereas 30 per cent would go to the Pension Fund, 15% to the current and former employees and pensioners, 15% to Croatian war veterans and 20% to a foreign investor. The bill, however, envisages the sale of at least 25% + 1 share to a strategic investor, whereas five per cent would go to the current ad former HT and HP employees, and five per cent would be allocated to war veterans and members of their families without payment.(hina) rml
