ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - The Croatian Peasants' Alliance which announced a two-day blockage of roads on Tuesday as a sign of protest due to the bad situation in agriculture, said Tuesday the police had prevented the gathering of
peasants at several locations in eastern Croatia. The Alliance's president, Ivan Kolar, told Hina police had prevented tractors from arriving at the envisaged rally spots in Brodski Stupnik, Stari Slanik, Slobodnica, Vrpolje and Gudinci. "We requested police assistance in organising today's rally. We never thought they would assist us in this manner," Kolar said. Representatives of the Alliance will be received by Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa. The Croatian Peasants' Alliance asked the Government some ten days

The Alliance also requested the payment of premiums for milk and
money stimulation for other products to farmers and fishermen, and
a correction of the buy-off price for this year's wheat.
