ZAGREB, May 17 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac and the head of the Croatian Armed Forces Main Staff, Vice Admiral Davor Domazet, on Monday received the head of the Hungarian Army Main Staff, General Ferenc Vegh.
After the talks, the Hungarian General told reporters that his hosts acquainted him with the reorganisation of the Croatian Armed Forces, and added that Hungary would share its experience in joining NATO with Croatia. This year we have 13 different joint programmes. Six of them are to be conducted in Croatia and seven in Hungary, and I believe that our relations will be furthered in the next period, Vegh said. These are namely joint programmes on air space surveillance, the exchange of experience and information, the cooperation between the two countries' border units, military exercises and so on, said Vice Admiral Domazet. The head of the Croatian Armed Forces Main Staff added that Croatia
and Hungary shared the same fate in the region, and had the same
stand points on problems.
Vegh said Hungary would, as a full member of NATO, support Croatia's
joining the Partnership for Peace and NATO, and added that it was in
Hungary's interest to support the entrance of each neighbouring
country to those integration processes.
The Hungarian delegation will also visit an army range in Slunj,
about 100 kilometres south of Zagreb.
