ZAGREB, April 29 (Hina) - The strike committee of employees of Croatia's largest press distribution company "Tisak", on Thursday said they will not continue striking as there is no longer any reason to do so. A consortium of six banks
fulfilled their obligations from an agreement reached with the Government. The banks have ensured about US$4 million to begin restructuring the distribution company. Tisak's employees on Wednesday received their salaries for February, and the banks issued guarantees to the Rovinj tobacco company for the procurement of tobacco products the distribution of which will start Thursday. The workers started their strike on April 21, because a plan for the company's rehabilitation, adopted by the Government on April 1, was not being implemented. All 2,500 "Tisak" news-stands were closed and the workers blocked the Croatian Printers, which prints most of Croatian papers. (hina) lml
