ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - The association of Croatian war soldiers expressed support to NATO strikes against Yugoslavia, NATO's declaration on Kosovo and the strategy for the 21st century adopted by NATO at the 50th anniversary of its
founding in Washington. In a letter to US Ambassador to Croatia William Montgomery, the association stressed NATO's action is aimed against ethnic cleansing and heavy violations of human rights, and that NATO was trying to maintain democratic order. "The success of military action and democracy are mutually complementary and one cannot do without the other," the association stressed. No mistakes must be made, nor concessions for kind-heartedness, as this would jeopardise the entire operation, and by this, the democratic society supporting this operation, the letter said.(hina) lml
