NEW YORK, Apr 21 (Hina) - The United Nations Mission of Observers on
Prevlaka (UNMOP) on Wednesday protested with Yugoslav authorities
due to the incursion of Yugoslav military police members onto the
demilitarised area on the Montenegrin side of the Croatian-
Yugoslav border.
Speaking to reporters in New York on Wednesday after a UN Security
Council session, chairman Alain Dejammet said the UN Secretary's
Office had submitted a preliminary report on the situation on
Prevlaka following the Tuesday incident.
"UNMOP observed the presence of 20 military Yugoslav police
personnel in the demilitarised zone in contradiction with the
demilitarisation regime," said Dejammet, adding Belgrade
authorities were called on to immediately withdraw the personnel.
The UN Security Council determined today it will closely follow the
situation, especially in view of the fact that on several
occasions, the last time with Resolution 1222 in January, it has
demanded the cessation of all violations of the demilitarised
zone.
