STUTTGART, April 16 (Hina) - Foreign ministers of European Union member-states and Mediterranean countries discussed the introduction of a free trade zone and the EU further financial assistance to the Mediterranean, on the second day
of the third Euro-Mediterranean conference in Stuttgart. Participants in the conference will try to agree on the further economic and financial cooperation between the EU and the Mediterranean countries. The main topic of Friday's discussion is the establishment of the free trade zone which should include more than 30 countries by 2010. Since the beginning of the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, forged at the first conference in Barcelona in 1995, to date EU member-countries invested more than nine (9) billion German marks in the Mediterranean countries.
