ZAGREB ZAGREB, March 26 (Hina) - A two-day international conference on legal consequences of the break-up of the former Yugoslavia in the areas of labour and social legislation started in Zagreb on Friday. The meeting, held under the
auspices of the Council of Europe Secretary General Daniel Tarschys, was organised by the Croatian Legal Centre and the Institute Open Society, with financial assistance from the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The event was opened by the head of the Zagreb UNHCR office Robert Robinson, who recalled that the UNHCR was supporting the efforts of various non-government organisations in Croatia, which play an important role in creating public opinion, especially as regards human rights. period of Homeland War, when social solidarity was increased, post-
war Croatia was faced with the growing social insecurity.
The conference continued with lectures by labour legislation
experts from Croatia and abroad.
