YUGOSLAVS CHARGED IN ITALY WITH THEFT WANT TO REMAIN IN CROATIA

ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - Two Yugoslav citizens threatened to kill themselves by cutting their hands with razors at the Zagreb airport on Wednesday afternoon in order to prevent their deportation into Italy where they have been charged with theft in jewellery shops. Zdravko R., aged 35, and Mitar B., aged 23, first cut their wrists, and then put razors close to their throats threatening to commit suicide should they be returned to Italy. Italian police handed the two men over to Zagreb believing that they were Croatian citizens since they had forged passports of Croatia. After longer than one hour, Croatian special policemen managed to take away the razors from the two men, a Zagreb police representative, Josip Begovic, told a news conference on Wednesday evening. The medical aid was offered to these Yugoslav nationals who sustained light injures. They will be kept at the Zagreb airport
