PODGORICA, Apr 9 (Hina) - Some 42,000 Kosovo Albanian refugees have arrived to neighbouring Montenegro since the beginning of the latest refugee wave, Montenegrin commissioner for refugees Djordjije Scepanovic told reporters in
Podgorica on Friday. Between 4,500 and 5,000 have proceeded mainly to Albania, and in part to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Scepanovic emphasised the number of refugees and displaced persons in Montenegro has reached alarming proportions given that at present Montenegro is providing care for some 93,000 refugees, which is almost 15 percent of the Yugoslav republic's entire population. An increasing number of international humanitarian organisations have expressed willingness to assist Montenegro in successfully passing the current "exam in humanity".(hina) ha lml
