BOOK "NEW NATO OR OLD GEOPOLITICS" PRESENTED

KARLOVAC, April 4 (Hina) - The book "A New NATO or Old Geopolitics" by a Croatian journalist and publicist Danko Plevnik was presented in Karlovac on Friday. The book, published by the Karlovac-based publishing house Impresum, includes texts published in the Split daily "Slobodna Dalmacija" between April 8, 1995 and January 9, 1999. The Faculty of Political Sciences' Dean Vlatko Mileta said Plevnik's strategic studies and analyses on NATO offer a reason for discussion on the future of the world and its division. NATO is not only the largest military, but also the largest economic association, which means new obligations, which today are visible in the Balkans, Mileta said. In the conditions of economic, political, military-strategic and ecological changes, the new NATO should assist in determining new geo-strategic relations, which will be marked by the activities of the largest world power and its ambitions. In this context, Plevnik analyses Croatia's position, as well as the possibility for Croatia's policy to correctly use the new geo- strategic situation, the book's reviewers Radovan Vukadinovic and Eduard Calic said.
