ZAGREB ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - The publishing house "Konzor" presented a book by Ilija Jakovljevic, "The Concentration Camp on the Sava River", in Zagreb's European House on Wednesday night. Jakovljevic (1898-1948), who was an
attorney, writer, poet and a publicist, actively participated on the political scene between the two world wars. He was arrested in 1941 by the Ustasha regime for refusing to cooperate and imprisoned at the Stara Gradiska concentration camp, where he remained until December 1942. In 1944 he joined the partisan forces. After World War II, Jakovljevic was arrested and imprisoned for his political views by the Yugoslav communist authorities and allegedly committed suicide in prison the same year.(hina) rml
