ZAGREB, March 26 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman received a letter from US President Bill Clinton regarding NATO air strikes on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, saying the aim of the attacks was to stop the Serbian
offensive on Kosovo and secure the fulfilment of earlier agreements and UN Security Council resolutions. According to a statement issued by the President's Office on Friday, in his response to the US President, President Tudjman said Croatia had been following with great interest the negotiations and diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Kosovo crisis, which it had fully supported, as well as that it shared the international community's disappointment with the failure of the talks. "Croatia's active role in this part of Europe, primarily regarding
the complex crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reaffirms the
importance of its (Croatia's) international position and of
strengthening its relations with the United States and
transatlantic institutions", President Tudjman said at the end of
his letter to President Clinton.
