SARAJEVO, Mar 9 (Hina) - The Temporary Electoral Commission of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday formally approved the suspension of Bosnian Serb entity President Nikola Poplasen. Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
spokesman Alexandar Mitzsche told reporters in Sarajevo the commission believed Poplasen had abused his position as Bosnian Serb President and continuously breached the spirit and letter of the commission's rules and regulations. Poplasen also belittled the voters' will, thus preventing the implementation of electoral results in keeping with accepted democratic principles, Mitzsche said. Ambassador Robert Barry, presiding member of the Temporary Electoral Commission and head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia, said in a statement he fully endorsed the international high representative's decision on Poplasen's suspension.(hina) ha
