ANKARA, Feb 11 (Hina) - On Thursday morning, Croatian President Franjo Tudjman received Turkish Premier Bulent Ecevit in the presidential palace Cankaja in Ankara. President Tudjman and Premier Ecevit pointed to the necessity to
strengthen the economic relations between Croatia and Turkey. The bilateral economic relations were marked by the moderate trade between the two countries which was valued about 33 million US dollars in 1998. During the last year Croatia exported US$ 7.7 million goods and imported US$ 25.8 million from Turkey. In 1997 the trade amounted to about 40 million dollars. One of priority tasks of the two countries in the bilateral cooperation is to reach the commodity trade recorded in 1990 when it had been valued at about 62 million dollars.
