ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - The Croatian Interior Ministry on Thursday said in a statement Interior Minister Ivan Penic had never said the "'phone tapping affair' was initiated abroad". The statement was issued in reaction to a statement
made by Croatian Social Liberal Party president Drazen Budisa at a February 2 press conference. According to the media, Budisa said Penic had stated the "phone-tapping affair" had been started abroad and that it was opened by former President's Office head Hrvoje Sarinic. The Interior Ministry statement said, "Minister Penic never made the said statement, and the motive for all conclusions drawn by Mr. Budisa from the alleged statement should therefore be sought elsewhere."(hina) ha jn
