VUKOVAR, Jan 29 (Hina) - Members of the Managing Board of the Croatian returnees' Association (ZPH) at Friday's session in Vukovar denounced the motion by the Joint Council of (Serb majority) Municipalities (ZVO) that Mirko Pupovac be
appointed assistant to the Croatian Interior Minister. The ZPH claim Pupovac was "a person who is known in the Danube region for war crimes and crime during the occupation of that part of Croatia". ZPH president Mato Simic showed to reporters written statements by several Croatian citizens who, as he said, could testify to Pupovac's war history and his participation in war crimes and other crimes.
