HEAD OF CRO INTELLIGENCE SERVICE HANDS IN RESIGNATION

ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Intelligence Service and deputy head of the Croatian President's Office for National Security, Miroslav Separovic, on Friday handed in his resignation to all state and party duties. Separovic said in a statement issued on Friday that he handed his resignation to intelligence service duties to Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on January 23, and his resignation to all party duties in the ruling Croatian Democratic Union on January 25. "The reasons for the resignations are my dissatisfaction with the organisation, work, relations, and manifestations to which I had pointed out in the past, but could not influence, in part of the Intelligence Community of the Republic of Croatia," Separovic said in his statement. "I had been warned about the dissatisfactory work of Croatia's intelligence-security services by the Croatian President as well, which is his constitutional and legal right. "In such a situation, my resignation and non-acceptance of other, truthfully, responsible and honourable duties, such as the ones I had to date, is logical," the statement said. (hina) ha jn
