SARAJEVO, Jan 26 (Hina) - The international High Representative
(HR) for Bosnia on Tuesday dismissed an official of the Croatian
Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BH) in Herceg-Bosna
Canton, the HR's Office said in a letter to the president of the HDZ
BH, Ante Jelavic.
The replaced Drago Tokmakcija acted as chairman of the HDZ BH

The HR said the decision on Tokmakcija's dismissal was based on
decisions of a Madrid declaration of the Steering Board of the Peace
Implementation Council.
These decisions envisage banning someone from performing public
duties and within political parties if the person in question has
previously been dismissed from a post for obstructing the
implementation of the Dayton peace agreement.
The HR reminded in his letter that in April 1998 Tokmakcija had been
dismissed from the post of deputy mayor of Drvar in line with
authority the HR was granted in a Bonn declaration on peace
implementation.
The HR in the letter prohibited Tokmakcija from performing any
function within the HDZ BH.
