PRISTINA, Jan 6 (Hina) - The U.S. envoy for Kosovo, Ambassador
Christopher Hill, on Wednesday said there was absolutely no
military solution to Kosovo but the resolution of the issue should
be reached by political means.
Hill was quoted by the Kosovo Albanian daily "Koha Ditore" as saying
that the goal of the three-year transitional agreement for Kosovo
was to establish legal, democratic and universally accepted
institutions, as some of the existing institutions cannot help to
build the future of Kosovo.
Hill said he had called on all parties in Kosovo to respect a truce.
Austrian Ambassador in Belgrade, Wolfgang Petritsch, who is a
European Union special envoy to Kosovo, told the same daily that
January and February should be decisive for the negotiating
process.
The international community spared no effort to bring closer stands
of the two parties in conflict in Kosovo by means of direct talks,
mediation, or any kind of talks which would make the Albanian and
Serbian sides sit at the negotiating table, said Ambassador
Petritsch.
