SARAJEVO, Jan 26 (Hina) - Members of a mixed Croatian-Bosnian
interstate commission for borders on Tuesday concluded there was a
minor difference in the two countries' standpoints regarding a
final definition of the border line.
The committee agreed that the matter be resolved through
cooperation within a special expert group.
Croatian and Bosnian diplomatic delegations met in Sarajevo on
Tuesday and stated that in the past period outstanding progress had
been made in drafting documentation necessary for the
identification and demarcation of the state border between Croatia
and Bosnia.
The meeting was attended by the deputy international High
Representative for Bosnia, Jacques Klein.
A statement issued afterwards said all conditions had been provided
for the mixed expert group to commence working.
"By comparing maps, we concluded that border lines correspond in a
high percentage," the head of the Bosnian delegation, Mudgim Cukle,
told reporters.
He said differences existed in a specific, minor number of
locations, which he added derived exclusively from different
documentation.
The head of the Croatian delegation, Zeljko Dobranovic, agreed
there were no differences in treating the border line, but in the
documentation determining it.
"It is very important to understand that between Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina there are no territorial disagreements nor
pretensions," he said.
All activities in determining the border are planned to be
completed by May. The interstate commission will next meet in
Zagreb on February 8.
