He requested Granic to "react promptly so that the Serbs remove the police checkpoint and the Republika Srpska flag from the right, occupied bank of the Una River and Croatia's territory." Over the past few days, the residents of Hrvatska Kostajnica were carefully following the events concerning the solution of the border dispute in Martin Brod and were "embittered" by the reaction of High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina Carlos Westendorp and the Stabilisation Force (SFOR). On the other hand, "not the slightest progress has been made as regards the occupied part of Hrvatska Kostajnica, on the territory of the Republic of Croatia". The High Representative told the press that the Kostajnica area was also a contentious issue, Govorcinovic reminded, requesting that Westendorp react appropriately in the case of Hrvatska Kostajnica. Govorcinovic also informed Granic that the municipal authorities of Hrvatska Kostajnica have all the land registers proving that the currently occupied part of the town has always been an indisputable part of Croatia's territory.
