ZAGREB, Dec 21 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic on Thursday received the ambassadors of Germany and Russia to discuss the current political situation. German Ambassador Gebhardt Weiss donated a number of valuable
political books for the parliament's library. He relayed his country's wish to contribute to the Parliament's legislative activities through which Croatia would draw even close to the European Union, the Parliament's public relations office said. Tomcic thanked Germany for its financial and material assistance to Croatia. Discussed was also Croatia's relations with the international war crimes tribunal, during which Tomcic stressed understanding was necessary for the sensitiveness of the Croatian people after the aggression on their homeland. Russian Ambassador Eduard Leonovich Kuzmin suggested a visit by a
delegation of the Russian parliament to Croatia's at the end of
January next year, which Tomcic agreed on, stressing Croatia and
Russia had great possibilities of developing political and
economic cooperation.
