PRESIDENT MESIC NEITHER GAVE NOR COULD HAVE HAD DOCUMENT AGAINST N. PAVIC - SPOKESWOMEN

ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) - The Croatian President's Office on Wednesday denied an article published in the latest issue of Croatia's weekly 'Globus', headlined "Mesic Forwards Documents Against Nino Pavic to 'Republika'," stressing the article was biased and false. "Croatian President Stipe Mesic neither gave nor could he have had the document accusing Nino Pavic," the President's spokeswoman Vjera Suman said in the statement. The statement also read that the 'Globus' article was tasteless, biased and false. The spokeswoman stressed this was another insinuation about the President of Croatia. In its new issue 'Globus' published an article which read that the editor-in-chief of daily 'Republika', Ivo Pukanic, had received the document implicating Nino Pavic - the so-called partnership agreement - from President Stipe Mesic. Furthermore, 'Globus' said its source was a senior state official. According to the police investigation, Europa Press Holding co- owner Nino Pavic, OTV television station co-owner Vinko Grubisic, media magnate Miroslav Kutle and another six persons are suspected of association to abuse authority in business activities and forge official documents.
