ZAGREB, Nov 29 (Hina) - The majority of members of seven trade unions of public and state services voted at Wednesday's referendum for protests because the government denied their request for the increase of basic wage by 8.5 percent,
as well the payment of a Christmas bonus and gifts for children. Of 100,000 members of trade unions of public services, the turnout at the referendum conducted between November 24 and 28 amounted to between 70 and 90 percent, of whom between 75 and 90 percent voted pro protests, president of the foundation of trade unions of public and state services Vilim Ribic told Hina Wednesday. Trade Unions on Wednesday also passed a preliminary decision on the announcement of a one-day warning protest of employees in public and state services, to be held on December 8, Ribic said.
